The Project

The idea behind the IoT monitoring platform for Vova Trailer was the delivery of smooth interoperability between the hardware, an app, and electronically controlled systems.

In view of that, a solution was meant to support different scenarios, like web and mobile versions for internal and external use. In other words, our goal was to provide the client with a platform accessible through the Internet via any device. Besides, it must provide instruments for managing the assets of the trailer owners and the company's representatives. So, the system should have the user roles like trailer owner, family members, rent mode, and support. Moreover, each role was supposed to have different access levels to the platform's functionality and data.

Another aspect of the IoT solution we were asked to deliver was an option to control different types of trailer appliances remotely, like:

  • sockets

  • lighting

  • curtains

  • cameras

  • security

  • heating system

  • multimedia

Vova Trailer wanted the platform to send notifications about security from motion, door opening, glass break sensors as well as a GPS tracking system. Furthermore, as safety inside the trailer is also a concern, the Client had a need to enable safety alerts notifying about smoke/fire, water leaks, and electric and diesel vapor/gas issues through special sensors. Other notifications that the system was supposed to provide included water & electricity levels and tire pressure.

The possibility of collecting data for further predictions, analytics, and sending notifications was another requirement. Also, the system should be flexible regarding appliance use and offer various safety, security, lighting, and heating scenarios.

The customer wanted the platform to be equipped with a sophisticated security system. In addition, considering the IoT system users' needs, Vova Trailers requested the solution to be accessed without an Internet connection.

Project Role
